The S.O.S. Band
R&B and boogie group The S.O.S. Band are best known for "Just Be Good to Me," “The Finest," the beatbox ballad "Tell Me If You Still Care" and their platinum hit "Take Your Time (Do It Right)."
A Taste of Honey
A Taste of Honey recorded one of the most popular chart-toppers of the disco era, "Boogie Oogie Oogie,” as well as the funky dance single “Do It Good” and hit ballad “Sukiyaki.”
Soul and funk band Zapp inspired West Coast hip-hop and G-funk with the hand-clapped drum beat funk of hits such as "More Bounce to the Ounce," "Dance Floor" and "Computer Love.”
Originally called the Soul Partners, R&B and funk band One Way scored five Top Ten hits on the R&B charts, including “Cutie Pie,” “Lady You Are” and “Don’t Think About It.”

Grammy-winning R&B diva Evelyn “Champagne” King is best known for the dance hits "Shame," "Love Come Down," "I'm in Love" and “The Dance.”
The Sugarhill Gang
The Sugarhill Gang brought hip hop and rap music into the mainstream with their 1979 Top 40 hit "Rapper's Delight" and other hits including "Apache," "Eighth Wonder," "Rapper's Reprise (Jam Jam)" and "Showdown.”
The Dazz Band
Grammy Award-winning funk group The Dazz Band makes danceable jazz with hit songs such as "Let It Whip," "Joystick," "Knock! Knock!" and "Let It All Blow."
The all-female R&B/pop band Klymaxx brings funky rhythms and sensual melodies with hits like “Meeting in the Ladies Room,” “The Men All Pause,” and Billboard Magazine’s number 3 song of 1986, “I Miss You.”
Club Nouveau won a Grammy for their version of Bill Withers' "Lean on Me," also scoring R&B hits with "Jealousy," "Situation #9" and "Why You Treat Me So Bad."
